DIVISION 2. - ADVISORY BOARD AND COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP [10]


Sec. 2-206. - Short title.

This division shall be known as the Pasco County Uniform Advisory Board Ordinance.

Sec. 2-207. - Intent.

It is the intent of this division to provide a uniform and efficient method for determining qualifications and appointments of members to the various county advisory boards and committees.

Sec. 2-208. - Applicability.

This division shall apply to all advisory boards and committees, unless expressly provided to the contrary.

Sec. 2-209. - Membership.

Nominations for appointment to the advisory boards or committees shall be made by each member of the board of county commissioners in accordance with applicable law, ordinances and resolutions governing the number of members and manner of appointment.

Sec. 2-210. - Qualifications for appointment.

All persons nominated or appointed to committees or boards regarding land use issues shall be residents of the county. All other appointments shall be made on the basis of experience or interest in the subject matter under the jurisdiction of the applicable board or committee.

Sec. 2-211. - Terms of office; vacancies.

(a)

The terms of office of all advisory board or committee members shall be concurrent with the nominating county commissioner or the chairman, whichever is applicable. Each board or committee shall be reviewed pursuant to section 2-196. A member may be reappointed upon approval of the board of county commissioners.

(b)

Appointments to fill vacancies on any board or committee shall be for the remainder of the unexpired term of office. If any member is absent from three consecutive meetings without cause and without prior notification to the chairman, the applicable board or committee may declare the member's office vacant, and the vacancy shall be promptly filled. Furthermore, if any member is habitually absent, the applicable board or committee may request the board of county commissioners to remove that member and fill the vacancy.
