Sec. 202-256. - Group insurance coverage.
(a)
The board of county commissioners of Collier County, Florida, be and is hereby authorized, empowered and permitted to provide health, accident, hospitalization insurance and life insurance, all or any of such insurance, for the employees thereof or for such employees and their dependents, upon a group insurance plan, and to that end to enter into agreement with insurance companies to provide such insurance. For the purpose of this section, all persons receiving wages or salaries from county funds, including the county commissioners and all elected constitutional officers of the county and their dependents, shall be considered as employees of the county and are eligible for participation in any insurance plan adopted as hereinafter provided.
(b)
The board of county commissioners of Collier County and all statutory and constitutional officers are authorized and empowered to pay out of appropriate public funds the cost of such group insurance.
