Sec. 14-60. - Enforcement program.
(a)
All officials duly authorized, including but not limited to peace officers of the state, and those authorized by statute to issue citations for Class C criminal misdemeanors, may assist the city in enforcement of this chapter.
(b)
Additionally, the directors of the departments of solid waste management, public works, code enforcement services, and the Metropolitan Health District shall have authority, at their discretion, to designate trained personnel to issue notices of violation (NOVs) and to make accompanying affidavits to support prosecution as part of the city's ongoing efforts to regulate and manage wastes for benefit of the public health, safety, and welfare, in coordination with the office of the city attorney, the municipal courts, the police department, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and any agencies with jurisdictional interests in solid waste regulation and management.
