CHAPTER 2. - ELECTION OR APPOINTMENT


Sec. 3-200. - Mayor.

At the general election to be held in the year 1968 and in every fourth year thereafter, a mayor shall be elected.

Sec. 3-201. - City auditor.

The city auditor shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of council.

Sec. 3-202. - City treasurer.

At the general election to be held in the year 1968 and in every fourth year thereafter, a city treasurer shall be elected.

Sec. 3-203. - City solicitor.

The mayor, with the advice and consent of a majority of all the members of the council, shall appoint the city solicitor.

Sec. 3-204. - Chief of staff.

The mayor shall appoint the chief of staff, who shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor.

Sec. 3-205. - Other department heads.

The mayor shall appoint the chief of police, the chief of fire, the director of commerce, the public works commissioner, the director of parks and recreation, the commissioner of licenses and inspection, the director of finance, the director of planning and development, and the director of human resources.

Sec. 3-206. - Members of boards and commissions.

Except as expressly otherwise provided and subject to the limitations contained in this Charter, the mayor shall appoint the members of all boards and commissions.

Sec. 3-207. - Officers of boards and commissions.

Except as expressly otherwise provided in this Charter, the members of boards and commissions shall elect their officers.
