CHAPTER 4. - TERMS OF OFFICE


Sec. 3-400. - Mayor.

The mayor shall serve for a term of four (4) years beginning on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of January following his election. He shall not be eligible for election for more than three (3) successive terms.

Sec. 3-401. - City auditor.

The city auditor shall serve until his or her successor is appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of council. Any vacancy shall be filled by appointment in the same manner as an original appointment. Any acting city auditor shall serve in such position for not more than ninety (90) days.

Sec. 3-402. - City treasurer.

The city treasurer shall serve for a term of four (4) years beginning on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of January following his election.

Sec. 3-403. - Chief of staff.

The chief of staff shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor and until his successor is qualified.

Sec. 3-404. - All other officers.

Except as expressly otherwise provided in this Charter, all appointed officers and all members and all officers of boards and commissions shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing power and until their successors are qualified.
