Sec. 2-150.5. - Health planning council of the city.
(a)
Establishment. There is hereby established an advisory body to be known as the "health planning council" of the city. The members of the health planning council shall be persons from the city council health committee, the city council marketing health task force, the city's physician advisory council, healthcare providers, neighborhood health organizations and community organizations. There shall be 35 members. Ten members shall be appointed by the mayor, ten members shall be appointed by the president of city council, 15 members shall be members of the marketing health task force and the city's physicians advisory council.
(b)
Authorization and coordination. The health planning council shall have the authority to plan and implement through the city's health offices, the efforts to improve healthcare and healthcare services within the city. The said council shall be a coordinating entity with all healthcare providers, educational referral services agencies, community based health-related organizations and educational institutions and state agencies which provide health services and information. In addition, city departments shall be involved and shall provide assistance regarding information and issues concerning the citizens of the city.
(c)
Organization and rules. The health planning council shall adopt such rules as it deems necessary and proper. The said council shall select its officers from among its members.
