Sec. 40-246. - Personnel rules for uniformed members of police and fire departments.
The rules and regulations of the police and fire departments as recommended by the chiefs of police and fire, subject to review by the director of personnel or designee and approved by the administrative board, shall constitute the personnel rules for uniformed members of the departments.

Sec. 40-247. - Administrative leave for police.
In any instance in which a citizen is wounded or killed by a police officer, the officer(s) most directly involved shall be placed on administrative leave with pay pending the completion of an investigation by the city solicitor and his or her release of conclusion with respect to such incident. The provisions of this section shall be incorporated into the rules and regulations of the police department.

Sec. 40-248. - Minimum ages for firefighters and for fire marshal's office investigators.
The minimum age for employment in the Wilmington Fire Department as a firefighter shall be 18 years of age. The minimum age for employment in the fire marshal's office as an investigator shall be 21 years of age.
