ARTICLE II. - KINGS COUNTY MUNICIPAL COURT [12]


Sec. 7-15. - Establishment of Kings County Municipal Court.

Pursuant to Section 73391.5 of the Government Code of the State of California, the municipal courts within the County of Kings are hereby consolidated and reorganized into one Municipal Court District which shall be named the Kings County Municipal Court District.

Sec. 7-16. - Establishment of divisions of the Kings County Municipal Court District.

Pursuant to Section 73391.5 of the Government Code of the State of California, the Kings County Municipal Court shall consist of the Avenal Division, the Corcoran Division, the Hanford Division and the Lemoore Division.

Sec. 7-17. - Facilities and court sessions.

Pursuant to Section 73396 of the Government Code of the State of California, the facilities for the Kings County Municipal Court shall be maintained in the Cities of Avenal, Corcoran, Hanford and Lemoore. The Kings County Municipal Court shall hold sessions at each facility as business requires. At the direction of the Kings County Municipal Court, arraignment of criminal defendants who are in custody at the Kings County Jail facility shall be held in the court facility located in hanford.

Sec. 7-18. - Hanford Division.

The Hanford Division shall comprise land within the County of Kings and within territory, the exterior boundaries of which are described as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of Township 17 South, Range 22 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence South six miles along the east line of said Range 22 to the northwest corner of Township 18 South, Range 23 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence east three miles along the north line of said Township 18 to the northeast corner of Section 4 Township 18 South, Range 23 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence south nine miles along the east lines of Sections 4, 9, 16, 21, 28 and 33 of Township 18 South, Range 23 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, and the east lines of Sections 4, 9 and 16 of Township 19 South, Range 23 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian to the southeast corner of said Section 16; thence west three miles along the south lines of Sections 16, 17 and 18 of said Township 19 South, Range 23 East to the southwest corner of said Section 18; thence south nine miles along the east line of said Range 22 East to the southeast corner of Township 20 South, Range 22 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence west 12 miles along the south line of said Township 20 South to the southwest corner of Township 20 South, Range 21 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence north 18 miles along the west line of said Range 21 to the northwest corner of Section 6, Township 18 South, Range 21 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence west one-half mile, more or less, along the north line of Section 1, Township 18 South, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, to an intersection with the boundary line between Kings and Fresno counties; thence meandering northeasterly along said boundary line to a point in Section 26, Township 17 South, Range 21 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, said point being the terminal point of the meandering portion of said boundary line; thence continuing northeasterly along the boundary line between Kings and Fresno counties to a point on the north line of Section 3, Township 17 South, Range 22 East; thence east two and seven-eighths miles, more or less, along the north line of said Township 17 to the point of beginning.

Sec. 7-19. - Lemoore Division.

The Lemoore Division shall comprise land within the County of Kings and within territory, the exterior boundaries of which are described as follows:

Beginning at the northwest corner of Township 18 South, Range 19 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence east 12 miles long the north line of said Township 18 to the northeast corner of Township 18 South, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence south 18 miles along the east line of said Range 20 to the southeast corner of Section 36, Township 20 South, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence west one-third mile, more or less, along the south line of said Section 36 to the northeast corner of Township 21 South, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence south two miles along the east line of said Range 20 to the southeast corner of Section 12, Township 21 South, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence west 17 1/3 miles, more or less, along the south lines of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Township 21 South, Ranges 18, 19 and 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian to an intersection with the boundary line between Kings and Fresno counties; thence northeasterly along said boundary line to an intersection with the west line of Range 19 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence north 14½ miles, more or less, along said west line to the point of beginning.

Sec. 7-20. - Corcoran Division.

The Corcoran Division shall comprise land within the County of Kings and within territory, the exterior boundaries of which are described as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of Township 21 South, Range 22 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence south 24 miles along the east line of said Range 22 to the southeast corner of Township 24 South, Range 22 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence west 12 miles along the south line of said Township 24 to the southwest corner of Township 24 South, Range 21 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence north 24 miles along the west line of said Range 21, to the northwest corner of Township 21 South, Range 21 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence East 12 miles along the north line of said Township 21 to the point of beginning.

Sec. 7-21. - Avenal Division.

The Avenal Division shall comprise all land within the County of Kings and within territory whose exterior boundaries are described as follows:

Beginning at the southeast corner of Township 24 South, Range 20 East, M.D.B.&M.; thence west 25¾ miles, more or less, along the south line of said Township 24 to an intersection with the boundary line between Kings and Monterey counties; thence meandering northwesterly along said boundary line to an intersection with the common boundary point of Kings, Monterey and Fresno counties; thence northeasterly along the boundary line of Kings and Fresno counties to an intersection with the south line of Section 7, Township 21 South, Range 18 East, M.D.B.&M.; thence east 17 1/3 miles, more or less, along the south lines of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Township 21 South, Ranges 18, 19 and 20 East, M.D.B.&M. to the northeast corner of Section 13, Township 21 South, Range 20 East, thence south 22 miles along the east line of said Range 20 to the point of beginning.
