ARTICLE II. - ELECTION DISTRICTS


Sec. 15-50. - Election districts, generally.

For the purpose of electing members of the city council and the school board of the City of Newport News, the city shall be divided into election districts as set forth in the following sections of this article.

Sec. 15-51. - Election District One.

Election District One, also known as North Voting District, and sometime referred to as Ward One, shall be composed of the territory situate, lying and being within the following described boundaries:

Beginning at the centerline of the mouth of the Warwick River; then following the centerline of the Warwick River to its intersection with Stoney Run Creek; then following the centerline of Stoney Run Creek to the point where Stoney Drive extended would cross Stoney Run; then following the centerline of Stoney Drive extended and Stoney Drive south to its intersection with Denbigh Boulevard; then following the centerline of Denbigh Boulevard to Old Lucas Creek Road; then following the centerline of Old Lucas Creek Road to its intersection with Lucas Creek Road; then following the centerline of Lucas Creek Road to its intersection with Colony Road; then following the centerline of Colony Road to its intersection with Eastwood Drive; then following the centerline of Eastwood Drive to its intersection with Nicewood Drive; then following the centerline of Nicewood Drive to its intersection with Princess Margaret Drive; then following the centerline of Princess Margaret Drive to its intersection with Bernard Drive; then following the centerline of Bernard Drive to its intersection with Menchville Road; then following the centerline of Menchville Road to its intersection with Warwick Boulevard; then following the centerline of Warwick Boulevard to its intersection with Scufflefield Road; then following the centerline of Scufflefield Road to its intersection with Nettles Drive; then following the centerline of Nettles Drive north to its intersection with Radcliff Lane; then following the centerline of Radcliff Lane to Pointer Circle; then following the centerline of Pointer Circle back to Radcliff Lane; then following the centerline of Radcliff Lane to Oyster Point Road; then following the centerline of Oyster Point Road east to the CSX main line; then following the centerline of the CSX main line north to its intersection with Denbigh Boulevard; then following the centerline of Denbigh Boulevard to its intersection with Old Denbigh Boulevard; then following the centerline of Old Denbigh Boulevard to the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and York County; then following the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and York County to its intersection with Skiffs Creek; then following the centerline of Skiffs Creek to its entrance at the James River; then following the James River shoreline to a point at the centerline of the mouth of the Warwick River.

Sec. 15-52. - Election District Two.

Election District Two, also known as Central Voting District, and sometime referred to as Ward Two, shall be composed of the territory situate, lying and being within the following described boundaries:

Beginning at the James River shoreline at its intersection with the Government Ditch; then following the centerline of the Government Ditch to its intersection with the CSX main line; then following the CSX main line to its intersection with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard; then following the centerline of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard to its intersection with Jefferson Avenue; then following the centerline of Jefferson Avenue to its intersection with Forrest Drive; then following the centerline of Forrest Drive to its intersection with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard; then following the centerline of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard to its intersection with I-64; then following the centerline of I-64 north to the westerly branch of Brick Kiln Creek; then following the centerline of the westerly branch of Brick Kiln Creek east to its intersection with the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and York County; then following the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and York County to its intersection with Old Denbigh Boulevard; then following the centerline of Old Denbigh Boulevard to its intersection with Denbigh Boulevard; then following the center line of Denbigh Boulevard west to its intersection with the CSX main line; then following the centerline of the CSX main line to its intersection with Oyster Point Road; then following the centerline of Oyster Point Road west to Radcliff Lane; then following the centerline of Radcliff Lane to Pointer Circle; then following the centerline of Pointer Circle back to Radcliff Lane; then following the centerline of Radcliff Lane to Nettles Drive; then following the centerline of Nettles Drive south to Scufflefield Road; then following the centerline of Scufflefield Road west to its intersection with Warwick Boulevard; then following the centerline of Warwick Boulevard to its intersection with Menchville Road; then following the centerline of Menchville Road to its intersection with Bernard Drive; then following the centerline of Bernard Drive to its intersection with Princess Margaret Drive; then following the centerline of Princess Margaret Drive to its intersection with Nicewood Drive; then following the centerline of Nicewood Drive to its intersection with Eastwood Drive; then following the centerline of Eastwood Drive to its intersection with Colony Road; then following the centerline of Colony Road to its intersection with Lucas Creek Road; then following the centerline of Lucas Creek Road to its intersection with Old Lucas Creek Road; then following the centerline of Old Lucas Creek Road to its intersection with Denbigh Boulevard; then following the centerline of Denbigh Boulevard to its intersection with Stoney Drive; then following Stoney Drive and Stoney Drive extended to the point where it crosses ; Stoney Run Creek; then following the centerline of Stoney Run Creek to its intersection with the Warwick River; then following the centerline of the Warwick River to its entrance at the James River; then following the James River shoreline to the point where it is intersected by the Government Ditch.

Sec. 15-53. - Election District Three.

Election District Three, also known as South Voting District, and sometime referred to as Ward Three, shall be composed of the territory situate, lying and being within the following described boundaries:

Beginning at the centerline of the mouth of the Small Boat Harbor; then following the Hampton Roads shoreline to its intersection with the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and the City of Hampton; then following the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and the City of Hampton to its intersection with York County; then following the corporate boundary between the City of Newport News and York County to the westerly branch of Brick Kiln Creek; then following the centerline of the westerly branch of Brick Kiln Creek to where it is crossed by I-64; then following the centerline of I-64 south to its intersection with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard; then following the centerline of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard to its intersection with Forrest Drive; then following the centerline of Forrest Drive to its intersection with Jefferson Avenue; then following the centerline of Jefferson Avenue to its intersection with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard; then following the centerline of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard to its intersection with the CSX main line; then following the centerline of the CSX main line to its intersection with the Government Ditch; then following the centerline of the Government Ditch to its intersection with the James River shoreline; then following the James River shoreline to the centerline of the Small Boat Harbor.

Sec. 15-54. - Precincts for each election district.

The precincts for each election district shall be as set forth below:
