FOOTNOTE(S):

(17) Editor's note— Ord. No. 3953-89, §§ 1—4, adopted Oct. 10, 1989, did not specifically amend the Code; hence, inclusion herein as Art. XVII, §§ 2-534—2-537 was at the discretion of the editor. Prior to inclusion of said ordinance, Art. XVII §§ 2-534—2-536, pertained to the handicapped access advisory committee and derived from Ord. No. 2699-80, §§1—3., which was repealed by Ord. No. 3952, § 1, adopted Oct. 10, 1991. Subsequently, Ord. No. 4600-94, adopted May 24, 1994, renamed Art. XVII as Newport News Mayor's Committee on Disabilities. Formerly, Art. XVII pertained to the Newport News Advisory Committee on Disabilities. See the Code Comparative Table. (Back)
