Sec. 43-45. - Permit for archery ranges.
No person shall set up or operate an archery range in the city, without first obtaining a permit from the chief of police. The chief of police shall issue a permit for the construction and operation of an archery range after the location and construction of the same have been proven to be consistent with the public safety. This section shall not apply to an archery range operated under the supervision of the division of recreation and parks.

Sec. 43-46. - Shooting or discharging generally.
No person shall shoot or discharge an arrow from a bow within the city, except upon an archery range operated under the supervision of the division of recreation and parks or an archery range for which a permit has been issued under section 43-45.

Sec. 43-47. - Shooting or discharging by minors.
No person under the age of eighteen (18) years shall shoot or discharge an arrow from a bow, except upon an archery range referred to in section 43-46 and then only when under the immediate supervision of an adult.

Sec. 43-48. - Exemptions from article.
(a)
Nothing in this article shall apply to the discharge of an arrow equipped with a blunt rubber tip or rubber suction cup, from a bow with a "pull" or "draw weight" of less than ten (10) pounds.
(b)
Nothing in this article shall prohibit lawful hunting with bows and arrows, except that in no case shall such hunting with bows and arrows be within one hundred (100) yards of any paved highway or any street or any building in the city.

Sec. 43-49. - Violations of article.
Any person violating any provision of this article shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor.
