20.52.010 Title for citation.

The ordinance codified in this Division 4 may be cited as the “solid waste ordinance of the county of Los Angeles.” (Ord. 11886 Art. 1 § 101, 1979.)

20.52.020 Purpose of Division 4 provisions--Statutory authority.

The purpose of the ordinance codified in Division 4 of this title is to provide for the enforcement of the Z'berg-Kapiloff Solid Waste Control Act of 1976, Section 66795 et seq. of the Government Code and the regulations promulgated thereunder and under Section 66770 of the Government Code pertaining to the minimum standards for solid-waste handling and disposal, and to create a fee structure for solid-waste facilities, waste collectors, waste recovery operations and waste collection trucks. 20.52.030 References to ordinances or statutes.

Whenever any reference is made to any portion of the ordinance codified in this Division 4, or of any other ordinance, or to any statute, such reference shall apply to all amendments and additions thereto now or thereafter made. All references to code sections are to the Government Code unless otherwise specified. (Ord. 11886 Art. 2 § 202, 1979.)

20.52.040 Severability.

If any provision of the ordinance codified in this Division 4, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance and the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. (Ord. 11886 Art. 2 § 203, 1979.)

20.52.050 Disposal of solid waste.

All solid waste collected or transported upon or along any public highway by waste collectors or self-haulers in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County shall be transported to a solid waste facility where such waste can legally be accepted. (Ord. 2007-0002 § 1, 2007.)
